Benoni

Boksburg and Benoni are two cities located on the East Rand of the Gauteng Province. Both are centrally located and literally in the hub of national and regional routes namely; the N3, N12, N17, R21, R29 and R555. The  close proximity to Oliver Tambo International Airport which is the port of entry for most tourists, international business personal , makes the cities very unique .

Gold was discovered in Boksburg in 1887 and since then Boksburg has become one of the most important gold-producing towns in Gauteng. After gold was discovered in 1887, the Government built the first Post Office and the Mining Commissioner’s office. The Gold Mines are known to have the deepest and longest tunnels.

In the first year after the offices were built, commercial and residential properties starting popping up all over Boksburg and Benoni and that was when development in the Boksburg and Benoni areas really took off. Boksburg and Benoni are the perfect suburbs for first time buyers because properties in these areas offer great value for money. There has been a huge demand for sectional title units in the East Rand and majority of the purchasers are the younger generation. • Harry Oppenheimer was said to have his roots in Benoni as a youngster.
