The Worlds Best Property Franchise?

We don’t know how to answer that because the word “best” can have multiple connotations. Factually, what we do know is that Century 21 is the world’s largest real estate company with around 8 000 independently owned offices in 73 countries and with almost a 45 year track record and factually, we know that we are still growing.
 
What we also know that common logic dictates that for Century 21 to be so successful and so dominant over such a large period of time, somewhere along the line, it has to be a value adding  proposition for all involved including franchisees, agents, buyers and sellers.
 
Logic dictates that the phenomenal global and local success of Century 21 has to be as a result of many things, big and small, subtle or bold, traditional or pioneering. It is probably a combination of its brand aesthetics, tools and systems, training and motivational programmes and cutting edge technologies that has helped it achieve its stature, however, common logic also dictates that no matter the physical systems of a company, its success is also based on its corporate ethos, its ethics and its friendships gained over all these years and throughout the whole world. In other words, you cannot fool so many people for so long and still be so successful and ... still on a growth path. Somewhere along the ling, you got to be honest and you got to deliver on promises.
 
The Century 21 formula works and yet there are still real estate companies that take pride in their so called “Independence”. Slogans like “Proudly Independent” and there is even one that says “We Are Fiercely Independent” is still around in marketing material. What does that mean? What relevance is there in being an independent agency to a buyer or a seller? Why do these agencies believe they are stronger through their independence?
 
The point is do independent agencies believe they are stronger without belonging to a brand. With respect to Century 21, do they believe that they are stronger and better off without our networking amongst our 8 000 offices and 120 000 agents worldwide? Or without our superior training and motivational initiatives and programmes we have developed over the years for our estate agents and principals? Or without our international and national brand awareness and technologies like our global website and our online national and international referral system? The question can be repeated over and over again encompassing all our value propositions available but which are not to the so called independent agencies.
