Century 21 Properties Expansion in Western Cape

Category Newsletter: HeadOffice

Century 21 South Africa has announced that 2 new sales offices will be opening in and around the Cape Town metro in the next month, one being the City Bowl office and the other being the Blouberg office.

Previously, Century 21’s City Bowl agents where operating out of the Seapoint office but demand from agents wanting to join the brand has necessitated the opening of this office to accommodate them. Market activity in the City Bowl  precinct which includes the CBD, Oranjezicht, Gardens, Vredehoek, Tamboerskloof and Bo-Kaap has always been good as these suburbs offer convenience with some having the most impressive landscapes and viewpoints and some being strategic commercial nodes. Unlike other CBD’s around the country, the Cape Town CBD has found favour amongst companies choosing to be headquarted here, from consumers choosing a primary residence here and from investors purchasing rental properties here. Developers have been spoilt for choice acquiring many older commercial buildings and converting them to impressive affordable residential sectional title properties. Also, hotel groups are investing heavily in the CBD and none more so than the recent Marriott International Hotels announcement of building 3 new hotels in the area. Property sales here have been around the R3 to R4 billion mark per annum over the last few years so it is a critical area for Century 21 to participate in.

The Blouberg office will be servicing the property needs of consumers along what is traditionally called the Western Seaboard and encompasses the large territory from Melkbosstrand to Paarden Island. The office is owned by the experienced partnership of Marlene Snowdon and Tamara Nettman who have previously been top performing and award winning Century 21 franchisees in the group in Johannesburg North. Due to the vastness of their area, they envisage opening multiple offices here to cover the whole territory and in plan is their head office in Parklands North which will be opening now, another beach office shortly thereafter and another in the Milnerton area. The area is very popular amongst consumers for primary residences, for investors, for holiday makers and for commercial enterprises alike making it the perfect mixed use area. Sectional title developments and gated communities feature here as property types. Its proximity to Cape Town, its expansive vistas including the famous distant Table Mountain backdrop and its favourable affordability price range makes it an important property node amongst real estate sales companies and Century 21 expects this office to be a top performer.

Says Harry Nicolaides, CEO of Century 21 Properties,” South Africans seem to “take it for granted” of how high Cape Town and its surrounding areas are viewed amongst the international community and now increasingly the local community to. It enjoys a status on par to other international cities like New York, London and Paris, who all offer their own different unique features too but besides its equivalent status, Cape Town, I believe, offers a lot more – there is more to do in Cape Town and its surrounding areas than the others mentioned before. With Century 21 having around 7 000 offices in around 80 countries I believe that the brand is ‘tailor made” for a City like Cape Town and we are confident in even further growth in this important node”.

Century 21 Real Estate LLC, headquarted in New York, is comprised of approximately 6,900 independently owned and operated franchised broker offices in 78 countries and territories worldwide with more than 101,000 independent sales professionals making it part of the World’s Largest Real Estate Sales Organization, and is the Franchisor of the Century 21 System.
