Unprecedented Growth for Century 21 South Africa

Category Market News

Century 21 South Africa has awarded no less than 5 franchises in the first 2 months of 2014. The franchises awarded were for Nelspruit, White River, Boksburg, and Benoni and for the Western Seaboard (Blouberg) territory of the Western Cape.

Also, towards the end of last year and after it was concluded that the Jacaranda (Pretoria North) franchise was not operating efficiently; it withdrew the franchise, divided the area into the Moot territory and the Montana territory, and immediately awarded these 2 territories to 2 separate new franchisees.

The net effect of all the above is that Century 21 has grown by 6 new franchisees in just the last 3 months.

Harry Nicolaides, Century 21’s CEO says,” In a business environment that has become truly global now, Century 21’s growth in South Africa shows that there is a need and a desire for an international property brand to be present in every corner in South Africa to service the property needs of every property owner no matter the size of their lot, their stature and their offering.  Well with Century 21 being the world’s largest real estate sales organization with around 7100 offices in 75 countries and now firmly established here in South Africa, real estate business owners are finding value in the collective knowledge, systems, tools and experience of a brand that has been in existence for around 50 years now and with well over 102 000 estate agents worldwide.

In this very competitive business of Real Estate franchising, brands need to be relevant in their offering, their ability to compete, their ability to grow and their relevance moving forward into the future with regards to their personality”.

Albeit that Century 21 has shown massive growth since 2010 under new management it will continue to grow in a structured tempered way to ensure honest, relevant and measurable offerings to buyers and sellers and to principals and agents.

Says Harry Nicolaides,” The brand will not grow for the sake of growth. We award franchises to “bona fida” business people who are expected to operate sales offices catering for up to 25 agents in their territories and we do not offer franchises to “one man shows” operating from home. This fact alone is what makes us relevant because only this way can the brand and its benefits be properly presented and experienced by not only buyers and sellers in the territory but also estate agents”.
